G.Skill Phoenix Pro SSD Shipped

G. Skill has officially released the Phoenix Pro series of solid state drive that is available in 40GB, 80GB, and 160GB of storage capacities. What makes the Phoenix Pro G. Skill SSD interesting is that it features Sand Force SF-1200 SSD controller, delivering amazing performance. G. Skill reports that its newest SSD is able to deliver performance in 4k random write speed up to 50.000 IOPS. Too bad, there is no info on pricing so far.

Xtore MobilRAID Storage Solution is More Storage Than You Can Probably Fill

It looks like Xtore is going to updating their line of storage products by adding these two new MobilRAID 6TE and MobilRAID 2Te devices. They will feature both FireWire and USB 2.0, USB 3.0, although a version will be coming soon. The 6TE will also feature eSATA and has sustained data transfer rates of up to 240MB / s with an integrated RAID 6 data protection. Both of them will feature LCD screens and the SSD is ready 6TE although it ships with six 2.5 inch 500GB WD HDDs. The 6TE sells for $ 2.850 while the 2Te supporting RAID 0 and a pair of 3.5 inch WD 1TB HDDs will sell for $ 985.

Samsung F4EG EcoGreen 2TB HDD

Samsung Electronics will release the EcoGreen F4EG on environmentally friendly hard disk drive for the desktop market. The EcoGreen F4EG features a 2-terabyte of storage space (667GB for each of its three disks), which format is capable of storing up to 880 hours of DVD video or 500,000 songs in MP3. With its three disks and advanced technology, the Samsung F4EG HDD is 19% better in standby time performance and provides 23% lower power consumption in standby mode than the previous model, the Samsung F3EG. Icy Dock Unveils A New USB 3.0 HDD/SSD Enclosure

A new USB 3.0 HDD / SSD enclosure has just been unveiled by Icy Dock. Called the MB668U3-1SB, this lightweight aluminum enclosure has a USB 3.0/2.0 interface, a cool blue LED to notify the user of the drive’s status and can accommodate a single 2.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on pricing and release date.

Mushkin Unleashes Callisto deluxe SSDs

Mushkin hits back by bringing you their newest series of SSDs, namely the Callisto deluxe. Available in 60GB, 120GB and 240GB capacities, these high performance 2.5-inch SSDs are equipped with the latest Sand Force SF-1200 controller, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a MTBF of 2 million hours and provide up to 50.000 IOPS of random write performance. In terms of performance, they promise to deliver read and write speeds of up to 285MB / s and 275MB / s respectively.
